Best Practices:
- listen and watch
- Find out ways where you can support the team and the project
- Be humble
- Thank people who help you
- keep a list of things you would do differently... and wait for a time appropriate to state them (if such a time does come)
- establish trust. carefully show how your competencies and knowledge can benefit the team (no bragging). Respect the team. Don't criticise quickly and don't whine.
- Be yourself. Know your strengths and weaknesses.
- Take ownership --> do not only focus on your part of the system but make sure what you deliver will work out as part of the whole.
