Software Development Considered as an Economic Activity 1

This section of the OT2003 Wiki is focused on the development of a new economic model for software development. This effort grows out of a presentation 1 by KevinTyson and the BOF session that was held the afternoon of 2 April 2003.

Several goals were identified during that session which include the following:

  1. NewProcesses
  2. NewTechnologies
  3. HaveFun
  4. WorkWithInterestingPeople
  5. MakeMoney

These goals are to be achieved by satisfying IT demand in selected industry verticles. The key aspects for select are discussed in TargetMarket.
