Michael is an Enterprise Architect in the Developer and Platform group at Microsoft in the UK interested in anything architectural including application architecture, performance and scalability, reliability, manageability, Enterprise Architecture, Frameworks, portfolio management, modelling, software engineering, SDLC and architectural tools.

He has been in computing for ever (well 30 years), starting on mainframes, progressing through UNIX systems to PCs. He has been a chip designer (working on the original IBM PC graphics chip), card designer, high voltage PSU design, OS design (including SMP), parallel processor design, image and graphics system design, database design, TP monitor design, application design and architecture. He has undertaken research in transaction processing, graphics processing, image processing and parallel processing. He worked for IBM for 20 years and has been at Microsoft for 10 years in a wide range of research, design, development, consultancy, presales and management roles.
