Best Practices for getting into new projects quickly.
Introduction

On the following pages I will be summarizing the outcomes of the session on Spa 2008 - There are also fotos of the flipchart pages and the outcomes - but I have put these up on http://www.flickr.com/groups/spa2008photos/ so take a look there if you are interested.

The general opinion at the end of the workshop seemed to be that it would be a good idea to try to continue gathering best practices and try to present them in an accesible way. So in writing and structuring this wiki I am also starting out organizing the content - and if you have your own comments and would like to add stuff - please feel free to contribute.

As of yet I do not know whether I will compile all of this into another form - but the the wiki will be a first step of trying to make all of this more accesible.

Focus

The focus of the workshop was on software developers getting into new projects from the perspective of the software developers. We did collect a few best practices on best practices for managers, but in order to keep things concise I would like to start out this wiki keeping the focus on best practices software developers can use. Here is just an unsorted Link with the ManagerBestPractices.

Another interesting question might be how to integrate new people in dispersed teams. But as we did not get to that aspect there is no link concerning this aspect.

As far as the structure goes: Just start out at the link "Problem Aspects". You'll find the different best practices linked under the different Problem Aspects.

I haven't gotten round to actually assimilate this yet, but these are the outcomes of "quotation - brainstorming" QuotationBrainstorming

Another thing that fascinates me is the question: How can I actually make workshops actually effective... On the following page I have started an unsorted list of my thoughts on what works and what doesnt...
