Channing Walton is a founding director of Casual Miracles. He has 18 years of software architecture, design and development experience in financial markets, investment banking, internet technologies and academic research. He is a Scrum Master, mentor and advisor in Agile Methods of software development and is active in a number of open source projects.

Over the last nine years Channing has worked in the financial markets on Bond trading systems at Deutsche Bank and UBS, an FX trading system at Deutsche Bank, and back office global reference data systems at BNP Paribas and Capco. Earlier, he was the manager of Canon Research Centre's Internet Department and consultant to Canon's European Sales and Marketing centres in respect of Internet Technology.

From 1989 to 1996, Channing completed a PhD at the University of Kent and post-doctoral research at University College London (UCL) where he pioneered ground-breaking techniques for high speed optical communications. At UCL, he also worked in the Atmospheric Physics Laboratory designing, building and deploying an optical, electronic and software system for taking measurements of the middle atmosphere (http://alomar.rocketrange.no/).
