I have been involved with Software development for more than 20 years both as a developer and a manager, primarily in the defence sector working on large complex embedded software systems. I have been involved in Process Improvement for more than 10 years, as a Software Process Improvement Manager, a SW CMM Lead Assessor and as a Software Department Manager.

Four years ago I joined the SELEX Sensors and Airborne Systems (formally BAE SYSTEMS Avionics) Engineering Directorate to lead the SELEX wide Software Improvement Programme which culminated in SELEX becoming the first European defence organisation to gain SW CMM Level 5. My current role is to lead the engineering improvement activities across all Engineering and Project Management disciplines.
