David Bell has extensive experience of managing software development organisations acquired over many years managing development teams in the UK, Europe and the USA.

His career has been characterised by the successful creation and establishment new organisations and includes a period as UK Engineering Director for Digital Equipment Corporation (DEC).

He has extensive experience of and skill in achieving results from the management of globally distributed multi-cultural, multi disciplined teams through the extensive use of:

> Vision and Mission definition.

> Goal Setting and Implementation

> Groupware Systems, video, web and teleconferencing

Driven by a strong belief, gained as a result of his extensive experience of managing software development, that poor performance of software development management is most frequently the cause of failing software development projects, David Bell established, in 1995, MFESD - The Management Forum for Excellence in Software Development. Today he is the Forum Director.

MFESD [http:www.mfesd.com], with support from BT and Reuters, is dedicated to bringing together software development managers in pursuit of high performance and provides a unique development and learning network for managers of software development.
