Abstract:Today, more than ever the enterprise must use IT to deliver business differentiation and competitive advantage. This is driven by the desire to shorten the ROI cycle, increase reuse and drive the ability to leverage both legacy and modern heterogeneous systems assets.

Service-Oriented Architectures (SOA) focus on delivering the ability to drive a business process framework that allows the enterprise to implement a flexible architecture to drive both broader business systems integration and also to deliver adaptive Business Process Management (BPM) solutions to develop, interconnect, monitor and maintain enterprise applications and services. This idea is not new, SOA as a principle goes back many years, but the latest wave seeks to move beyond previous efforts targeted at modular programming, code reuse, and object-oriented software. The challenges are clear and ever present for all: heterogeneous platforms, legacy solutions, distributed systems, business integration, multiple protocols, and multi-channel access.

Grid computing delivers the ability to virtualise and consolidate the IT infrastructure investment already present within the enterprise. The combination of SOA and Grid combined with an element of new Event Driven Architectures (EDA) delivers the modern infrastructure for IT.

To successfully achieve this vision, well defined blueprints are necessary for implementation of architectures and delivery of projects. These best practices for implementation assist architects in the design and planning of initiatives and strategic. This seminar clearly explains a number of these patterns and blueprints using Oracle technology and real-world customer solution examples from the extensive experience, we have had implementing SOA for Oracle's customers.

The session is suitable for anyone considering a tactical or a long term strategic move to SOA or BPM.
