[OT99] [Set up a BOF session] [Booking] [Programme] [Organisation]

Participating Join Europe's leading experts to explore contemporary software practice.
The OT conferences have always been enjoyed and acclaimed for their exciting, participative style. No snoring in front of droning lecturers here! Nearly every session involves real exchange of ideas, practical work, and discussion. And there are many small discussion groups --- "BOFs" --- that you organise, at the conference, on whatever topic you're most concerned with.
Programme This year's programme once again addresses the most pressing concerns of software developers. The big themes are:
Components and reuse
Java Beans --- reuse --- Business object frameworks --- modelling and designing --- reliability
Architectures
Distributed and otherwise --- CORBA --- ORBs --- middleware --- low-risk change --- large-scale trading systems --- patterns & styles --- performance People
Culture shift --- reorganisation --- management --- political obstacles --- group working --- failure modes
Process
Strategy and tactics --- development methods --- reuse --- re-engineering --- metrics --- Capability Maturity Model --- performance engineering
Technology
UML --- Java --- CORBA --- Platforms --- Databases --- Middleware

In addition to the scheduled events, you are strongly encouraged to set up meetings at the conference (these are called 'BOFs' -- birds of a feather sessions), on any topic you are interested to talk about. And, as always, a programme of pleasant evening entertainment will be laid on.

Accommodation Bed, breakfast, and dinner are provided at Christ Church college, where a variety of informal working sessions, gatherings, and diversions occur in the evening.
Booking Fill in and send the booking form (electronically or otherwise).
