Subject Matter:
The combination of intranet, internet and object technology offers
a promise of "write once, run anywhere" applications. But how do we get
to that promise from the current state of "write here, crash there"
applications?
Users of a collaborative development environment may leverage on
this technology to call on remote experts to assist them in the
development of applications - this session will discover what
features such an environment requires.
Principal Objectives:
To build a vision of a collaborative development environment
Intended Audience:
Software Developers, i.e. real practitioners who bang out code
Level of Experience:
At least a couple of years of experience of coding in
at least one Object Oriented programming language

Session Leader:
Bernard Horan works for Sun Microsystems Laboratories, where he is engaged in a project to build a collaborative multi-user shared space. Bernard has been using object technology for over 10 years and is a frequent conference contributor. He is also the co-author of "Smalltalk: An Introduction to Application Development using VisualWorks".
