I am currently working as a software developer for NHS Doncaster, within the Public Health Department. I came into this role while I was writing up my PhD thesis in the field of Bioinformatics (2003 / 2004) and have stayed with the NHS and Public Health since.

My role is varied as I involve myself in the informatics side of public health intelligence and epidemiology in addition to straight software development, however coding is a big part of what I do. I mostly code using T-SQL (MS SQL Server), VBA (Excel), Perl. I am a BCS member.
