Dr. David Shepherd has been creating Eclipse-based software tools since 2002, first as a PhD student at the University of Delaware and more recently as a postdoc at the University of British Columbia. Although he enjoyed researching software tools, eventually his practical side won over his academic interest and he now develops software tools at Tasktop Technologies. Along the way, David has presented at international software research conferences and Fortune 500 companies, organized workshops, and taught large university courses. His experience presenting, coupled with a penchant for visual thinking and a passion for software tools help him deliver engaging presentations.
