With over 20 years of experience in Information Technology, Dave had his first web site up and running back in the early 1990's, in the days when Mosaic and Netscape dominated the browser market. He holds a first class honours degree in Computing Science, a Masters in Advanced Computing (specialist topic user interface design and development), is a Chartered Engineer and a member of the British Computer Society (MBCS). As well as having lectured in the past at two British universities, he has extensive practical experience in developing dynamic internet, intranet and extranet applications in industry, using a variety of web technologies - ASP.Net/C# being his current preferred platform.

In addition, he has a strong background in human-computer interaction and user interface design, is a practitioner member of the executive committee of the British HCI Group and has co-chaired two one-day web conferences to date, Time and the Web and The Active Web, and is also guest editor for two special issues of the journal Interacting with Computers, entitled Interfaces for the Active Web. He is currently working as a freelance consultant and MD of Visualize Systems Ltd, a company specialising in the design and development of usable web-based interactive systems.
