I have worked in software development for more years than I care to mention. Most of my managerial experience has been in managing outsourced IT development. The line of where and how to outsource, varied according to the length of time between the original management idea and reality sinking in. There had to be a better way.

A period of reflection while resting between jobs led me to the Agile foundation where I found a much better expression of the principles that had worked for me as a developer and a manager.

I am now happily managing a couple of in-house Development teams that don't consist of Gods-of-Development and working on the fine line between Agile - Deterministic - Unprofessional
