Amit has worked on Enterprise-wide transformation programs through two decades. With a CDA and Methodologist background, Amit has worked independently as strategist, mentor, leader and auditor for EA, Engineering and Transformational Governance. Amit founded Beam Strategic Research and Consulting Ltd as a point of consolidation for research and creative problem solving innovations, and to coordinate work on strategic reviews, audits and high-end consulting. The Sirona initiative led by Amit became a finalist of the UK IT Industry Technology Excellence awards in 2009.

Through last few years, Amit has devoted a portion of his time to professional training, which he recognises as mutual learning experience and conducts in format that allows him to absorb much from the professionals he is teaching. Among the small number of IBM-Rational-accredited instructors with distinction as mentor for IBM-Rational University and partners, Amit is a recognised authority on SDLC, and specifics of Requirements, Architecture, Visual Modelling, Analysis, Design and Program Governance disciplines. He also spends some time regularly as TOGAF Course Director, apart from contributing master-classes in his field of expertise, notably Requirements Engineering, SDLC Processes and Enterprise Architecture.

Amit has written widely with over two dozen publications and proprietary works to his credit, including a co-authored book and an oft-quoted cover feature for The Rational Edge. He has also chaired IASA content committee and edits Information Governance. He has been inventor/originator of ideas and techniques including visual modelling techniques and UML extensions, BI/DSS techniques and Dimensional Analysis, world's first ARC-compliant EA Maturity Assessment technique, and Beacon Architecture. Some of his ideas, notably Projection Diagrams, have found their way in various industry standards. He also contributes the column Masterbuilder's Craft.

A member of the BCS Effective Leadership (ELITE) group and the UK (formerly NHS) Faculty of Health Informatics, Amit is a recognised speaker, panellist and facilitator in professional events. He has been a speaker and contributor at BCS events, including the SPA group and BCS Health, and serves on the SPA, IRMA (Information Risk Management and Assurance) and EA committees.
