Abstract | "Ah-ha, the conference program says the next hour is devoted to 'Birds of a Feather sessions'. So let's have a look at the notice board... is there anything I'd be interested in... hmmm... well... *that* one might be interesting, but it's hard to say... oh, *that* one might be interesting, too. But I always worry it will turn out boring and I'm be too embarrassed to leave. Perhaps I'll go to the bar instead."
If that sounds like you, then the DynaBOF?? is the answer to your prayers. For one hour a large conference space will be home to multiple discussions on topics of your choice. Move from topic to topic or stay in one group the whole hour - the choice is yours. Based on the pioneering multiple goldfish bowl format devised by Bruce Anderson for a very early BCS OOPS group meeting, and honed in accordance with the recent trendy and politically correct Open Space initiatives, this session offers the chance to exchange a lot of ideas and information in a short time. It will be exciting, noisy and fun. What do *you* want to talk about? | |
